Our Most Powerful Storyteller
At this year’s Clio Awards, Keith Reinhard was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his legendary creative work and business vision that have both left a lasting impact on our industry. How appropriate, for all us at DDB, that the event happened on a Wednesday. For more than twenty years, Keith sent weekly memos each Wednesday to the entire network. He shared personal reflections on our business and the world. He shared good news. He guided us through tough times as well. When traveling around the network, you would often see employees’ favorites posted on their wall. In the early days before email, it’s amazing to think how the Any Wednesday found a way to each employees’ desk every Wednesday morning, strengthening our culture and reminding us what it meant to work at DDB.

To celebrate his latest award, I asked Keith to grant us a new Any Wednesday. He did last week, but it wasn’t just the usual memo. Keith broadcast this Any Wednesday on Periscope. He has always been a pioneer. Keith chose to speak on stories and why they are still the most powerful way to communicate. It is fitting, since Keith has given us much of the story we tell about DDB. He has taught us the true meaning of creativity and humanity. And he kept the Bernbach legacy alive and growing throughout the network and the world.
