Cannes ’18 Wrap-Up


Our success will always be measured by the results we create for our clients. The artistry and cleverness we award should also be our most effective work. And our Cannes Lion winners this year are no exception.

In total, DDB won 107 Lions (1 Grand Prix, 15 Gold, 37 Silver, 54 Bronze) and was named the third most-awarded network at the Festival. A total of 20 DDB offices took home Lions this year, with offices representing every region around the globe. Our most-awarded office, adam&eveDDB London, was once again named Agency of Year. We also had 27 agencies across the network whose Lions and Shortlists contributed to the Holding Company of the Year title for Omnicom.

Our most-awarded offices also had some of our biggest – and most effective – ideas of the Festival. AFRICA in São Paulo won our only Grand Prix plus two Golds for Budweiser Tagwords. Additional Golds went to adam&eveDDB London for EA Sports FIFA ’18 More than a Game, Marmite Gene Project, Calm Project 84, and Cybersmile. Germany brought home Gold Lions for The Uncensored Playlist from Berlin and the Stabilo Remarkable campaign from Düsseldorf. The resurgence of DDB North America could also be felt with their multiple Lion winners for Skittles Exclusive the Rainbow out of DDB Chicago and McDonald’s Flip from We Are Unlimited. DDB New Zealand didn’t bring home Gold this year but was among our top agencies at the Festival, including one of our top 5 most-awarded campaigns, Steinlager Fight for Territory.
